Joanne Shaw was born in 1967 in a small mining town in Saskatchewan, Canada. She is author of the novel, THE STONE HE TURNED: A ROSETTA STONE SAGA. (This book is currently going to a publisher.) It is about a psychic female private investigator. She has nearly completed about 8 other non-fiction. She recently, was invited two years in a row to read to a Nobel Prize audience of authors, and accomplished this at the age of 39. She has been bodybuilding 20 years. She has been predominantly vegan vegetarian for about as long (fruitarian). She majored in Computer Science at the University of Regina. At the age of 19, she was hired by the Dean to teach a Computer Science class. She was employed at IBM Canada Ltd. While at IBM, she won 3 cash awards for creative suggestions. She left the computer science field shortly upon entering it
to become an artist and also to turn history as a political activist. She
did accomplished just that. At one point, both her humanistic visions as well as her artistic ventures became more grounded. She became a professional writer. She passed laws and lobby politicians. For 3 years, she met and corresponded regularly with government officials such as the Minister of Social Services and the Premier and lobbied governement on behalf of a provincial group of antipoverty lawyers and welfare advocates regarding government policy and law. She helped draft recommendations to the British Columbia GAIN Act and passed governing welfare law. Ms. Shaw has published often on on law, legal subject and human rights in publications such as The Vancouver Sun, The Calgary Herald and The Long Haul. She has appeared on T.V. and radio several times. She long ago retired from anything to do with the front-lines and now only writes about these issues, and on occation will publish or lobby by herself on these issues. Antipoverty was one cause she was left with, but is mostly loyal to chiildren's rights and/or religious rights. She is completing the several non-fiction books, to follow her novel. Lost Ambition which is about antipoverty, Criminal Sex, Today's Burning Times. She is also writing a bodybuilding book and a book on nutrician and how to be content with what you eat. She has been predominantly vegetarian and fruitarian since 22. As well, she developed a cartoon strip. She is also very spiritual and writes often on spirtiual insight. She is a singer and songwriter. Compassionate and passionate, Joanne Shaw,
diverse in sound and style, refuses to limit herself to one genre, as long
as she reaches any success in a new one. So far she has managed to
do just that. Her effective lyrics and melodies displayed in
songs she created of folk, blues, ballad, jazz, rock, Celtic, and a bit
of broadway show tunes and opera. She is similar in sound to
Jewel, Patsy Cline, Diana Krall. She has been writing professionally for sixteen years and since a child she has been winning awards for her writing. She recently, won two years in a row Outstanding Achievement in Poetry by the International Society of poets. Chosen over several million other poets from around the world and invited to read to a group of Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning authors and the winner of American Idol and several other celebrities from around the world. She was also Appointed a United States Ambassador of Poetry, 2007, by the International Library of Poetry and The National Poetry Month Committee. The book she is most proud of is her novel, Rosetta Stone, which is complete in its entirety, and about a female psychic private investigator.
